Our nursery is a place for creativity and therefore there is no “Typical Day”.
We always start the day with Breakfast which is served until 8.45 a.m. and then it is really up to the children what happens next, whether it be indoors or outdoors. The only structured part to our day are mealtimes and so Lunch is at 11.30 a.m. and Tea is at 3.30p.m and both of these meals are freshly prepared by our highly skilled nursery chef Emma.
Children are encouraged to explore and investigate their ideas each day, and their work tends to turn into long-term projects. Our role throughout the day is to support their teamwork so, when a child come into the nursery to tell us he had a new Rabbit and had named him Peter we saw it as an opportunity to engage the children's creativity and, over a number of weeks we made houses and burrows for Peter Rabbit, searched for wild rabbits in our Forest School, made Bunny shaped bread rolls, planted and grew carrots, and on and on it went…
We Go outdoors. Have fun. Get messy. Explore, Sleep it off. Splash. Dig, Build. Sing. Dance. Paint. Read, Laugh... Whether you are 6 months old or 5 years old you’re child will be allowed to experiment, discover, experience, learn; and have lots of fun doing it at The Old School House Nursery.
